Project New Mexico. This is what we have started to call this new adventure we are on. With this blog, we will try to capture the true feeling of our experience as we head back to school. Keep in mind, formal schooling has not been a part of our lives for more than 25 years, so we really feel that becoming a student again will take a little adjustments. Actually, Steve is scared to death and jumps up and down and screams just at the thought of it – these moments of hysteria have decreased in duration and frequency BUT the over all feeling is still there!
We both plan on writing entries here so you should be able to see a style difference in our entries.
It is now Feb. 1, 2012. We have recently returned from a three day trip to Albuquerque to fInalize our living arrangements and officially apply for school. While there we sat in on two classes – one AP class and one Chinese Medicine class. Both were overwhelming and interesting! We took a yoga class – and at 5400 ft this was a challenge, we found a gym, we had a massage at the school’s clinic and we did a little site seeing!
Now, back in Newport we have really begun the process of moving on. What bills need to be forwarded? Can you find someone to watch over our house? Who will watch over Steve’s garden? We need to complete our 2011 taxes. We need to make decisions on what to take with us and what to leave here. And, the list goes on. But one by one we are sorting through all of these details and by the end of the month we will begin our journey to Albuquerque.
A new way of life is about to begin and we are ready! Watch us as we move through all of the highs and lows of the next seven months – we promise it will be nothing short of entertaining!
Peace and Love
